Creativity with Food Series by Hong Yi

Hong Yi aka ‘Red’ a Malaysian artist known as, ‘the artist who loves to paint, but not with a paintbrush’. She also goes by the nickname ‘Red’ because Hong sounds like the word ‘red’ in Mandarin.

In her project ’31 Days of Creativity with Food’ – In March Hong challenged herself to create a new piece of food art for every day of March and share the results on Instagram.

There were only two rules:

1. Only food can be used
2. The creations must be placed on a white plate, which serves as the backdrop.

Portraits Created from Shredded Love Letters by Jamie Poole

U.K. based artist Jamie Poole creates large scale portraits using strips of paper cut from poems and pieced together with painstaking precision. For his latest project Jamie used love letters and poems that his fiancé wrote to him over the last 2 years to create this incredible life-like self portrait. Jamie says of his work, "As text is layered the words, lines and phrases are repeated and embedded into the work creating a unifying physicality."

Maddie on Things

Maddie the Coonhound has an impressive ability to balance herself on everyday objects. Atlanta-based photographer Theron Humphrey, created this photo project of her entitled “Maddie on Things”, which has been such a success that it is still on-going. Together, they create interesting an unusual portraits featuring Maddie in funny scenarios.

According to Humphrey, the project began as a simple bet with a friend. “I had been photographing Maddie for a bit, just for fun, to do something different. A friend challenged me to see if Maddie could stand on four soup cans. She did it on the first try!” he said.
