Mind-Blowing Microscopic Sculptures by Willard Wigan

Great things come on small packages! Micro Sculptor Willard Wigan is the only person in the world who can create what can only be described as ‘micro art‘.

Artist Wigan uses a tiny surgical blade to carve his microscopic figures out of rice, grains of sand, and sugar, which are then displayed on items such as pinheads, the tip of an eyelash or even a grain of sand. One of his works is a boxing ring with a Muhammad Ali figure that fits on the head of a match.

Willard Wigan specialises in sculptures that are so small they fit inside the eye of a needle! To view these sculptures you need a microscope!

I agree, this is amazing. But don´t say he´s the only one. Look at work of this guy: Nikolay Syadristy (also written as Mikola Syadristy). He makes this inside half a poppy seed! Work of this can be found at

OK, so there might be others that came after him... but to go onto a site about him and give th' dig about some other artist is a bit petty and ridiculous.

If praise is due then praise should be given...

There are tons of artists, with tons of differing abilities.

And there are few who are visionaries that pave the way for those of us who get inspired and try to follow and even push the envelope of what our predecessors have challenged us with.
